About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DC Outbound Planner to join our team at Screwfix. As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for the outbound flow of stock from our Distribution Centre to our stores, with the goal of maximizing utilization and delivering outstanding store service and first-class availability and depth for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for outbound ordering, prioritization, and capacity utilization to ensure the right stock is in trade counters at the right time.
  • Subject matter expert in our specialist store stock system, effectively utilizing tools to optimize store stock by prioritizing SKU/store needs in line with business priorities.
  • Manage key internal relationships with Supply Chain Teams, retail operations, and the 3PL planning teams, escalating where appropriate to Line Manager.
  • Collaborate with planning teams in Screwfix and 3PL to ensure capacity is planned effectively – transport, DC, and pick type.
  • Balance operational efficiencies with business priorities, championing the customers at every stage of the process.
  • Spend time with Trade Counters to understand retail requirements and identify new opportunities to improve availability and overcome operational challenges.
  • Develop relationships with 3PL colleagues to ensure prompt and effective resolution of operational issues, escalating where appropriate to Line Manager.
  • Build, distribute, and explain complex reporting that identifies, explains, and predicts future opportunities and challenges.
  • Maintain a database of store information, including formats, capacities, and key operational information, to enable you and the wider SC team to effectively support stores.
