About the Position:

As a Specialist Practitioner Psychologist with Yooralla, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced PBS Practitioner / Psychologist to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement behaviour support plans that promote quality of life, safety, and well-being for individuals with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinical Case Management: Develop and manage clinical case loads within your scope of practice, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  2. PBS Application: Utilize your expertise in disability and PBS concepts to support individuals with complex needs, promoting positive behaviour change and improved quality of life.
  3. Comprehensive Support Planning: Conduct functional behaviour assessments, develop interim behaviour support plans, and create evidence-informed comprehensive behaviour support plans that address individual needs and goals.
  4. Plan Implementation and Monitoring: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement behaviour support plans, adapt strategies to different environments, and ensure successful outcomes.
  5. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge, ensuring consistent, safe, and high-quality behaviour support services.
  6. Supervision: Provide supervision to Core-level NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioners and participate in regular supervision provided by Yooralla and/or external providers.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • A Proficient Practitioner must demonstrate attainment of completed self-assessment and endorsed according to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) PBS Capability Framework as either all domains "capability met" or as "developing" in their competencies and knowledge at Proficient Level.
  • Share Yooralla's values and possess:
    • Current National Police Record Check
    • International Police Check (if required)
    • Working with Children Check
    • NDIS Worker Screening Check
    • Current driver's license valid in Australia
    • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, social work, occupational therapy, applied behaviour analysis, disability, health)
    • Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Proficient Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework
    • Previous experience as a Core/Proficient Practitioner under the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Capability Framework
    • Up-to-date Immunisation History
    • Access to your vehicle with employment-related travel reimbursement provided (Travel is an expectation of the position)

Professional Experience (Desirable):

  • Previous experience working in a disability-related field (e.g., disability support work, support coordination, disability advocacy)
  • Lived experience of disability

If you are a Registered Psychologist:

  • Post-graduate tertiary qualification in psychology
  • Full registration as a psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
