Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician Escalators-Nights to join our team at Schindler Group. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our lift and escalator equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing of lift and escalator equipment, including minor repair work and the routine replacement of components, in accordance with approved company procedures.
  • Rectify and reduce faults on lift and escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of lift and escalator equipment, including speed, motor start/stop, weight, noise, temperature, and power supplies, using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment.
  • Perform routine inspection and adjustment of lift and escalator equipment in accordance with approved procedures, reinstating equipment and completing service documentation.
  • Carry out advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques, technical manuals, and appropriate test equipment, restoring equipment to service.
  • Conduct site surveys and attend relevant training sessions to stay up-to-date on technical knowledge and skills.
  • Work in accordance with the Company's Safety and Environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the Company's safety objectives by maintaining and monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes to the safety management system.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in lift and escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs is preferred.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in lift and escalator maintenance or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red.
  • Advanced electrical and mechanical knowledge, including multi-brand equipment.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, and within efficiencies.
  • Ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
  • Good communication skills at different levels (client, service leader, inspectors).
  • Manual dexterity - requires the use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting, use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools, and to record written information.
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Good administration skills and punctuality.
  • Full UK driving license.
