Head of Client Accounts

At Spicerhaart, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Head of Client Accounts to join our team in Newport. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of ten, ensuring the smooth operation of client accounting processes, and providing exceptional customer service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage and motivate a team of ten to achieve high-quality results and meet deadlines.
  • Supervise team workflow, including daily deadlines, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure weekly and monthly deadlines are met, including bank reconciliations, non-resident landlord updates, and external insurance reporting.
  • Process and file HMRC quarterly and annual documents on behalf of clients.
  • Produce income and expenditure reports and invoices.
  • Control client accounting system end-of-month processes and agency fee reporting.
  • Manage and review client accounting housekeeping and quality control reports.
  • Continuously improve processes to strengthen internal controls.
  • Produce client accounting policies and training process documents.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-review.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong proficiency in using basic Microsoft packages, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Minimum GCSE Maths and English C or above, with higher educational levels preferred.
  • Previous experience in client accounting is essential, with ARLA regulation desirable.
What We Offer:
  • Basic salary between £30,000 and £35,000 per year, dependent on experience.
  • Full training will be provided, including a handover from the existing Client Accounts Manager.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.
  • Reporting to the Group Finance Director.
