The Family Psychologist is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neurodiversity Assessment Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments and support to neurodiverse individuals, families, and professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake comprehensive autism and ADHD assessments, including initial appointments, neurodevelopmental interviews, and ADOS assessments.
- Conduct discipline-specific assessments to contribute to a wider exploration of an individual's social, communication, and educational needs.
- Communicate effectively with neurodiverse individuals, families, and internal and external staff.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide post-diagnostic intervention and support in a person-centered and individualized way.
- Manage a varied and complex caseload, completing clinical reports and correspondence in a timely manner.
- Contribute to efficient risk assessment and risk management within the MDT.
- Liaise with allied health and education professionals to ensure continuity of care across services and improve the experience of neurodiverse individuals.
- Make ongoing contributions to service development to ensure services meet the needs of those we support.
- Design and deliver training within your scope of expertise, both internally and externally.
- Participate in CPD opportunities, both internally and externally.
- Experience in delivering support and interventions to neurodiverse individuals.
- Experience in safeguarding and risk assessment procedures.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
- Commitment to improving the experience of neurodiverse individuals.
- Experience in delivering mental health assessments and interventions.
- Experience of working within an NHS or private Autism service.
- Professional Qualification in Speech and Language Therapy, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology (including Clinical, Educational, Health, Counselling or Forensic Psychology).
- Registration with the relevant statutory body (such as HCPC, NMC or SWE) as appropriate to profession.
- Formal training in ADOS / DISCO/ 3Di / ADI-R or equivalent assessment measure.
- Formal safeguarding training (level 3).
