Chester, Cheshire, United Kingdom Countess Of Chester Hospital Full time

At the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we strive to create an environment where all staff are valued and appreciated. To achieve this, our Trust has started a new strategy focused on continuous improvement.

Our Vision

We aim to improve the lives of our community and provide excellence in healthcare through partnership and innovation. Our High Performance Culture supports everyone to be the best version of themselves by being true to our Trust vision, values, and behaviours.

Our Approach

We welcome applications from colleagues from our local and neighbouring communities of all backgrounds and identities, who are currently under-represented within our region. This includes Black, Asian, Minority ethnic, and those with disabilities. As a region, we are reviewing the way we work and exploring how new working practices that support flexible working can create a positive work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a permanent Consultant in Palliative Medicine to work across the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team (CSPCT) within Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) and Hospice of the Good Shepherd (HGS). The successful candidate will provide specialist advice and input in hospital and community settings, leading further service development and research.

Main Duties

The postholder will collaborate closely with existing consultants within the collaborative service, providing specialist palliative medical skills for patients and leadership to a wider team of clinicians tasked with delivering responsive, effective, coordinated, compassionate, person-centered palliative care.

Benefits

The successful applicant will be in an exciting position to enhance and facilitate the care of the terminally ill across the locality, acting as a focus for advice, generalist contact in community and hospice settings, and further development and research locally.
