About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Court Security Officer to join our team at the City of Birmingham. As a key member of our court operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our judges, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain courtrooms for hearings and trials, ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are in place.
  • Provide security and support to judges, staff, and visitors, including screening and escorting individuals as needed.
  • Maintain order and discipline in the courtroom, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all parties.
  • Collaborate with other court staff to ensure smooth and efficient court operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective functioning of the court.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a security or law enforcement role, preferably in a court or judicial setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
