Digital Technical Services Director

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to lead and manage Digital Technical Services, including IT, Networks, and Voice Services, at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The successful post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a plan to ensure a robust technical Digital infrastructure across all sites, enabling clinicians to access systems and data to support patient care.

The role requires the post holder to:

  1. Develop and implement a strategy to ensure seamless access to systems and data across all sites.
  2. Implement new technology to support and expand systems, working closely with the Director of Digital.
  3. Support the Director of Digital in developing the Trust's Digital Strategy, developing underpinning Digital Technology plans, and deputising when required.
  4. Be responsible for developing and maintaining the Technical Infrastructure for Voice and Data, ensuring key ICT systems and services are available to support patient care.
  5. Act as the Trust expert on the Technical Infrastructure for Voice and Data, developing the overall Technical architecture, working to national standards, and taking into account local ICS needs.

The post holder will be part of the Senior Management Team within Digital Services, reporting to the Director of Digital. The role offers a range of benefits, including development opportunities, on-going support, and a variety of staff benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Informatics, with significant relevant informatics content, and proven experience in senior leadership roles and managing complex projects. They will have an excellent understanding of the informatics and business needs of a large healthcare organisation.
