Job Title: Senior Community Specialist

The Senior Community Specialist is a key member of the healthcare team, responsible for providing play services to children and their families in a hospital setting. The post holder will work closely with other healthcare professionals to alleviate the fears and anxieties of hospitalization on children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate play activities in various hospital areas to support children's emotional and developmental needs.
  • Develop and implement play plans to help children cope with medical procedures and treatments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for children and their families.
  • Provide training and supervision to junior staff and student learners.
Requirements:
  • Registered Health Play Specialist with a Foundation Degree in Healthcare Play Specialism or equivalent.
  • At least three years' experience working in a pediatric care environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
