Carnforth and Milnthorpe PCN is seeking a highly skilled General Practice Assistant to join our team at Ash Trees Surgery.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic GP practice, supporting our GPs with administrative tasks and helping to ensure the smooth running of clinics.
Main ResponsibilitiesKey duties of the role include:
- Administrative Support: Assisting with routine administration, including appointments, referrals, and patient records.
- Patient Preparation: Preparing patients for consultations, taking brief histories, and recording basic readings.
- Form Completion: Completing basic forms and core elements of more complex forms for GP approval and signature.
- Treatment Explanation: Explaining treatment procedures to patients in accordance with NHS guidelines.
- Communication: Liaising with outside agencies, communicating with patients and carers, and contributing to the implementation of services.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: A minimum of 12 months' experience in a GP practice or Primary Care setting.
- Skills: Strong administration and organisational skills, good communication skills, and a good understanding of data protection, GDPR, and patient confidentiality.
- Personal Qualities: A strong interest in health and social care, a committed learner, and the ability to work independently.
