Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Health Specialist to join our team at Devon County Council. As a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse, you will play a key role in improving outcomes for children and families in Devon.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leading and delivering the Healthy Child Programme (HCP DH 2010) to improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Contributing to the Public Health Agenda, meeting Public Health targets, and reducing health inequalities in partnership with key agencies.
  • Promoting the protection of children, adhering to the Local Safeguarding Children's Board policies and procedures.
  • Leading teams within Health Visiting and School Nurses, and partnering with agencies as required.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure Key Performance Indicator targets are met.
  • Supporting service development, standard setting, clinical audit, and benchmarking.
