Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 3 Respiratory Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) to join our expanding Respiratory Laboratory team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with the medical team, admin team, other clinical physiologists, and members of the multi-disciplinary team to provide excellent patient care and clinical practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team towards the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders.
  • Contribute to and maintain excellent standards of patient care and clinical practice.
  • Daily face-to-face interactions with patients to support the wider team in delivering education, instruction, and treatment.
  • Perform spirometry face-to-face with patients in health locations within North Merseyside after receiving training.
  • Prepare and programme spirometry diagnostic equipment, perform spirometry clinics to ARTP standards, and maintain stock levels using the current inventory recording system/process.
  • Assist in more advanced investigations, such as CPET testing, with appropriate training and instruction.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Prior healthcare experience.
  • Experience of working within a clinical setting.
  • Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • ARTP certificate in spirometry (desirable).

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and access to professional development opportunities.
