About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our Radiation Protection Group. The successful candidate will support all aspects of the group's work, including ionising radiation protection, optical radiation protection, and electromagnetic fields.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing services to Dermatology, Theatres, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT, Radiopharmacy, and Radiotherapy departments
- Assessing the safety requirements of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and carrying out UV or X-ray equipment performance testing
- Working with clinical staff on X-ray optimisation projects and leading X-ray equipment performance testing
- Training staff groups in radiation safety and auditing safety and compliance with regulations
Requirements
- Good Honours degree in a relevant subject or equivalent
- HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist
- Relevant MSc or equivalent
- Proficient in the use of a PC, Keyboard
- Experience of operating x-ray and laser equipment
- Strong Interpersonal skills
