Army Editor and Publication Specialist
The Ministry of Defence offers a diverse range of roles, including the Army Publications Editor position. This role plays a fundamental part in the production process, working closely with serving personnel to collate and format publications that set the standard for Royal Artillery Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures.
This is a unique opportunity to work independently alongside military personnel in the Command and Tactics Wing of the Royal School of Artillery. The role allows flexibility in the workplace and independence if required.
As an Army Publications Editor, you will be responsible for providing an editorial development service for the production and maintenance of Royal Artillery publications and other supporting documents in line with the Royal Artillery Doctrine Publications Working Group.
The successful applicant will need a keen eye for detail and have experience of working with the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Publisher. You will also need to be able to work under your own initiative whilst working towards common goals.
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our staff. As part of this commitment, we encourage flexible working to help maintain a great work/life balance. Other benefits include 25 days paid annual leave rising to 30 days upon completion of 5 years service, a highly competitive pension scheme, and access to the Employee Assistance Programme.
In addition to these benefits, we offer opportunities for personal and professional development, including working towards membership of a professional body and/or undertaking a modern apprenticeship as part of your role.
