Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support: Act as the first point of contact for students requiring pastoral support, managing and overseeing behavior and attendance concerns.
  • Liaising with Parents and Staff: Work closely with parents, staff, and external agencies to ensure appropriate support for students.
  • Personal Support: Provide one-to-one support for students facing personal, social, or emotional challenges.
  • Wellbeing Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to improve student wellbeing, engagement, and behavior across the school.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of interventions and student progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a pastoral or student support role, ideally within a SEN school environment.
  • Safeguarding: Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to build trusting relationships with students, parents, and staff, working independently as well as part of a team.
