Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Locality Team in Rutland County Council. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for working with children and families to provide support and protection. This is a temporary role, and you will have the opportunity to work in a professional and vibrant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989
- Undertaking Initial Assessments under Section 17 of the Children's Act of 1989
- Undertaking Core Assessments and Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47 of the Children's Act of 1989
- Undertaking Pre-Birth and Parenting Assessments under Section 47 of the Children's Act of 1989
- Completion of Section 7 and Section 37 reports requested by Family Courts
- Carrying out home visits for monitoring purposes/to promote the welfare of and to safeguard the children
- Producing Initial Child Protection Conference reports
- Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings
- Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans and Care Proceedings
- Completion of Care Proceedings
- Applying for and obtaining Emergency Protection Orders
- Chairing Children in Need meetings
- Attending court and giving evidence when required
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a recognised social work qualification and be SWE registered. You will also require at least two years post-qualifying experience in a statutory child care setting.
