About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Conduct Risk Specialist to join our team at NatWest Group. In this role, you will be responsible for leading regulatory compliance and conducting insightful oversight and challenge.

You will provide expert support, advice, and market intelligence (MI) to leaders and the business on risk management, gaining exposure by owning stakeholder relationships and ensuring early understanding and buy-in of conduct risk appetite activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mitigate risks associated with legal or regulatory sanctions, material financial loss, and reputational harm.
  • Provide critical analysis and independent challenge on function's strategy and approach to defining and measuring conduct risk appetite.
  • Interrogate and assess function structures and provide strategic regulatory advice through a focus on customer outcomes and regulatory expectations.
  • Provide technical advice on regulatory rules applicable to the function and their impact on the operating model.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have strong financial services experience, preferably in banking and regulated firms in the conduct risk environment. You will need broad technical knowledge of products, services, and regulations relevant to a large retail and wholesale bank.

  • Knowledge and experience of providing regulatory and technical support and advice to senior management.
  • Ability to analyse, understand, and draw sound conclusions from a wide range of sources and information, including MI.
  • Track record in effective senior stakeholder management, with relevant experience in a compliance or conduct risk-related discipline.
  • Experience in, and ability to have, challenging conversations with stakeholders to reach agreed positions, with a proven strength in influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and simplify complex conduct matters to ensure they are effectively managed, understood, and communicated.
