About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Support Worker to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives, depending on their age and individual needs.
  • Maintain a homely and friendly culture and environment within the residential care setting.
  • Deal with challenging behaviours in a safe and sympathetic manner.
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with young people is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is also desirable but not essential.
  • A full UK driving licence is required, as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
  • You must be over the age of 21 and able to commute to the location.
