Senior Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children's home in Crediton. As a Senior Children's Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

Our ideal candidate will be a committed and resilient individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people. You will be responsible for leading by example, mentoring and supporting newer staff members, and promoting the independence and well-being of the young people in our care.

We offer a comprehensive training package, including scheduled ongoing face-to-face training and CPD planning, as well as opportunities for career development and maximising earnings. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives
  • Keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home
  • Maintain a safe environment for the young people
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is essential
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is essential
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
