Job Title: Senior Children's Support Worker

We are seeking a passionate and committed Senior Children's Support Worker to join our team at a modern residential children's home in Crediton. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to lead by example and support the management team to run the shift. They will also be responsible for mentoring and supporting newer staff members, encouraging the young people to take responsibility for their own lives, and maintaining a safe and homely environment.

The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence as you may be required to transport the young people from time to time. In return, we offer a competitive salary, comprehensive training package, and opportunities for career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to take responsibility for their own lives
  • Maintain a safe and homely environment
  • Deal with challenging behaviours when needed
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Children's Support Worker or with Young People is ESSENTIAL
  • Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is ESSENTIAL
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People
