Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ERU Team Leader to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the decontamination science team and ensuring the provision of high-quality decontamination services for reusable flexible endoscopes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the decontamination science team and ensure the provision of high-quality decontamination services.
  • Manage decontamination records and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
  • Interpret and review technical data and production reports to inform decision-making.
  • Provide a high-quality and timely service to customers, including patients and staff.
  • Supervise, organize, and allocate work to team members, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of departmental standard operating procedures and ensure staff compliance.
  • Plan and manage own workload with minimal managerial direction.
  • Perform receipt, disassembly, manual cleaning, and reassembly, and reprocessing of reusable flexible endoscopes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in decontamination science and leadership roles.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and decontamination procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
