About Our Client

Our client, a leading company in the food industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join their team. With a commitment to accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, this position is critical to managing the company's financial operations.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the work of the bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial record-keeping
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly management accounts using Sage, including detailed reports and analyses for directors
  • Compile and prepare annual accounts for review and presentation to directors, external accountants, and auditors
  • Manage and submit accurate quarterly VAT returns in a timely manner
  • Assist management with cash flow monitoring, forecasting, and other financial analysis as needed
  • Generate and present various financial reports and data to aid in decision-making
  • Advise directors on recommending and implementing new controls and procedures to enhance financial efficiency and governance
  • Perform other related duties to support the company's financial objectives and strategic goals
Essential Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ICAS, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Proven experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Sage and MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
