About the Role

The City of Lincoln Council is seeking an experienced and skilled individual to lead the Bereavement Services team, overseeing the Lincoln Crematorium site and six burial sites across the city.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop and implement a comprehensive business plan, focusing on commercial growth and revenue sales.
  • To maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • To provide leadership and guidance to the Bereavement Services team, promoting excellence in service delivery.
  • To build strong relationships with stakeholders, including customers, the local community, and contractors/suppliers.
  • To ensure the highest standards of sympathy and compassion are maintained in all aspects of the service.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ICCM Certificates in Cemetery and Crematorium Management and full Diploma or similar qualification.
  • Proven experience in managing a team in bereavement services, with a focus on leadership, motivation, and staff management.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to develop and implement a business plan.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar environment, with a focus on cemetery and crematorium management.
