Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Hepatology Clinical Fellow to join our renowned multidisciplinary team. This exciting opportunity allows candidates at ST6+ or Post CCT with experience in paediatric hepatology to contribute to the day-to-day management of inpatients and participate in outpatient clinics on our paediatric hepatology ward (L50).

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved in the day-to-day management of patients, take part in outpatient clinics, and have opportunities to further their training in practical procedures such as therapeutic endoscopy and liver biopsy. The weekly ward timetable includes close supervision by consultants and several opportunities for clinical teaching.

  • Participate in the middle-grade on-call rota equivalent to ST3+
  • Involved in medical audit and local/multi-centre research projects
  • Have opportunities to further their training in practical procedures
About Us

We are a National Specialist Service for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of children with a wide range of acute and chronic liver disease, portal hypertension, or intrahepatic lesions. Our department is one of three national centres for Paediatric Liver Transplant and has close relationships with other specialties at Leeds Children's Hospital.

Requirements

Candidates should have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues. They must also meet the eligibility criteria outlined below:

  • Evidence of at least 36 months' experience in Paediatric Medicine
  • Previous experience working at a Registrar level
  • Ability to perform a safeguarding medical, level 3 safeguarding training
