As a key member of the Whistl team, the Accounts Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining the company's financial well-being. This dynamic role offers invaluable experience and training opportunities, allowing you to hone your skills and make a meaningful impact on our success.

The Accounts Assistant will work closely with the Financial Controller and the wider team to ensure the accurate and efficient completion of tasks. Your operational expertise and attention to detail will be essential in safeguarding our company's financial health.

Key responsibilities include:

Purchase Ledger

  • Process purchase invoices correctly in the accounting system, ensuring timely authorisation and accurate nominal entry.
  • Review and capture invoice details, including third-party costs and carbon data calculations.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts and manage supplier relationships, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Produce weekly supplier payments in accordance with established procedures.
  • Maintain accurate folder structures for reference and audit purposes.
  • Manage staff expenses and payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Sales Ledger

  • Process sales invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate and timely recording in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and manage customer relationships, resolving any discrepancies.
  • Produce regular sales reports, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
