About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic individual to join our Crisis Recovery Service as a Peer Support Worker. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing practical and emotional support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work alongside clients to achieve their personal recovery goals in a non-judgmental and personalized way.
  • Provide responsive support to clients through face-to-face, virtual, and telephone-based interactions.
  • Support clients in accessing statutory support, including psychological interventions.
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of community resources and partner organizations to signpost clients and promote social inclusion.
  • Help clients gain a sense of hope, wellbeing, and control over their lives.
  • Support clients in engaging with and building connections to their local communities.
  • Help clients gain satisfaction in different aspects of their lives.
  • Live the values of Peer Support as described in the PSW Competency Framework 2020.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience or knowledge of community mental health services, whether through lived experience or work. You will have experience in communicating with individuals who have difficulties with their mental health in a supportive and beneficial way. You will demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude, careful listening, and a non-judgmental approach.
