Senior CNC Programmer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Programmer to join our client's Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in optimizing machine set-up times and maximizing production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Creating, implementing, and maintaining programs for use on various manufacturing processes using CAM packages such as SmartCAM and GibbsCAM.
  • Developing programs and methodologies for various manufacturing processes using specific and bespoke software.
  • Assisting with compiling machining time for quoting for new work, including estimating product costs for sales and directors as appropriate.
  • Validating generated software programs and making productive modifications to them as part of ongoing continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in an engineering production/manufacturing role, with significant experience post-apprenticeship.
  • Proven track record of using computers and computer software packages to generate CNC programs.
  • Excellent understanding of engineering tooling required to manufacture engineering components.
  • Ability to understand various machine and process protocols, including Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak, Mitsubishi, etc.
