Senior CNC Programmer

Our client, a leading engineering firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Programmer to join their Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in optimizing machine set-up times and maximizing production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement programs for various manufacturing processes using CAM packages such as SmartCAM and GibbsCAM.
  2. Utilize Creo (ProEngineer) to create programs for complex machined profiles on milling, turning, and turn/mill machines.
  3. Design and develop programs and methodologies for various manufacturing processes using specific and bespoke software.
  4. Assist with compiling machining time for quoting new work and estimating product costs for sales and directors.
  5. Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering required.
  6. Previous experience in an engineering production/manufacturing role and significant experience post-apprenticeship.
  7. Proven track record of using computers and computer software packages to generate CNC programs.
  8. Excellent understanding of engineering tooling required to manufacture engineering components.
Requirements:
  1. Ability to understand various machine and process protocols (ideally Fanuc, Okuma, Mazak, Mitsubishi, etc.).
  2. Validating generated software programs and making productive modifications to them as part of ongoing continuous improvement.

Hours: Mon-Thurs 7:30am-4:30pm, Fri 7:30am-12:30pm

Flexibility to work over a multiple of shifts if required, with a 25% uplift.
