Compton Ward Clinical Lead Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced clinical leader to lead our Compton Ward team in delivering exceptional care to patients.

Job Summary:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
  • Full-time position at Cygnet Nield House in Crewe

About the Role:

Cygnet Nield House is a 29-bed mental health hospital for women, divided into two distinct wards: Clarion and Compton. As the Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for managing Compton Ward, a 15-bed acute service for women experiencing an acute episode of mental illness.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care and serve as a role model for junior staff
  • Coordinate all clinical aspects of the ward and ensure collaboration between departments
  • Implement policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring compliance by others
  • Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, and development of evidence-based practice
  • Participate in the manager's on-call system to provide support outside regular working hours
  • Lead by example to maintain consistently high standards of clinical care and documentation

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with inpatient settings, preferably acute or forensic
  • Experience in managing change, leadership initiatives, motivating, and developing others
  • Openness, compassion, honesty, and resilience
  • Ability to undertake audits, develop action plans, and ensure completion
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and current nursing practices
  • Focus on patient recovery, risk management, and reduction

Estimated Salary: £62,000 per annum
