Job Summary

The Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified dietitian to fill a rotational post across its integrated acute and community dietetic services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in various areas, including gastroenterology, surgery, diabetes, and stroke.

As part of the rotation, the dietitian will develop their skills in providing nutritional care plans for patients on general wards and outpatient clinics at Leighton Hospital. They will also work with the community home enteral feeding dietetic team and general practice service.

The role involves formulating, delivering, and monitoring nutritional care plans for referred patients, as well as communicating information effectively to patients. The dietitian will also participate in ongoing healthcare professional training and be involved in patient group sessions for lifestyle change.

Responsibilities:

  • To contribute to the delivery of dietetic services to adult patients across Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust and Central Cheshire.
  • To manage and prioritize a defined patient caseload on wards at Leighton Hospital.
  • To formulate, deliver, and monitor nutritional care plans for referred patients across a range of general wards and outpatient settings.
  • To communicate information effectively to patients, including giving difficult-to-accept information and motivating/persuading patients to comply with treatment programmes.

Person Specification:

  • Hcpc registration pending
  • Acute nhs experience
  • One to one patient education and group dietetic intervention

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a permanent position, and the successful candidate will be employed by Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
