We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced planning professional to join our Strategic Development Team at Charnwood Borough Council. As a Principal Planning Officer - Strategic Development, you will play a key role in managing complex planning applications and appeals, particularly those relating to Sustainable Urban Extensions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the planning process for large-scale development sites, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including developers, consultees, councillors, and local communities.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on planning matters, ensuring that the Council's Corporate Plan is delivered.
- Contribute to the development of planning policies and strategies, ensuring that they are aligned with the Council's vision and objectives.
- Work collaboratively with other teams and departments to deliver transformational change and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Significant experience of managing complex planning applications and appeals.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Expert knowledge of planning policies and regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teams and departments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
