About the Role

Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a Section Engineer to join their team on a major improvement project on the A428 in Cambridgeshire. As a Section Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning and coordination of site works, ensuring that they are constructed in accordance with design and contract scopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise a team of Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers, and Apprentice Engineers to ensure effective performance of duties.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Develop and implement temporary works design briefs to meet project requirements.
  • Produce a 3-month lookahead for site works and record progress against planned production.
  • Collaborate with the Sub Agent/Agent and commercial team to review subcontractor applications for payment.
  • Coordinate client and third-party quality inspections and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain clear expectations for environmental management with the team and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field, or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, common construction methodologies, and construction contracts.
  • Working towards or in possession of a Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng, etc.).
  • Digital competence in MS Office, document control systems, and site digital tools.
  • Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS, SEATS).
  • Relevant CSCS Card and full UK driving license.
