This project aims to establish a new dual carriageway, enhancing connectivity and efficiency for commuters in the region. Collaborating closely with our design partner, this endeavor builds upon our established relationship with key stakeholders in the transportation sector.

This initiative is set to revamp one of the most heavily trafficked routes, providing substantial time savings for those who travel in and around the area, thereby contributing to a more efficient society.

We are currently seeking Site Engineers to join our team. In this role, you will receive support from the Section Engineer and other team members, and you will be responsible for overseeing site operations within your designated section. Your contributions will be vital in planning and ensuring that all work is executed in alignment with design specifications and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively communicate with fellow engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives.
  • Prepare temporary works design briefs that meet the standards set by the Section Engineer and Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • Review engineering designs and address any queries with your Section Engineer.
  • Participate in the weekly project planning sessions to contribute to the 4-week lookahead programme for your section.
  • Collaborate with the Section Engineer and supervisors to resolve any conflicts with other site activities.
  • Understand and interpret design specifications and drawings relevant to your section.
  • Assist in delivering Inspection and Test Plans for your assigned works.
  • Identify and report Non-Conformances, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Uphold Environmental policies and procedures in all aspects of your work.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or an HND in Civil Engineering along with vocational training.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Solid understanding of engineering principles.
  • Progressing towards or holding a Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng, etc.).
  • Proficiency with digital tools and technologies.
  • Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (e.g., SMSTS, SEATS).
  • A valid CSCS card.
  • Experience with engineering surveying tools.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential for our highway projects.
  • Legal right to work in the UK is required for this position.
Preferred Experience (not mandatory):
  • Familiarity with excavation works (HSG47, CAT & Genny scanning).
  • Previous experience in concrete works as a site-based engineer.
  • Background in structural steelwork as a site-based engineer.
