Track Engineer - Construction

At Murphy, we are seeking a skilled Track Engineer - Construction to join our team in the North West and Central region. As a Track Engineer - Construction, you will play a pivotal role in the successful development and implementation of our portfolio of renewals works, including bridge, stations, drainage, and earthworks projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular liaison with designers to ensure designs are efficient and safe to build, install, test, and commission
  • Regular contact with the client to progressively assure designs, including participation in IDC/IDRs
  • Input into the Project Execution Plan to document the planned construction methodologies
  • Approval of detailed construction methodologies produced by the project teams
  • Approval of inspection and test plans/commissioning plans produced by the project teams
  • Review design submissions for quality and completeness
  • Reviewing the construction programmes for completeness and integration with other disciplines
  • Managing engineers to ensure Critical Rail Temperatures and Track Monitoring is recorded and reported
  • Ensuring Track Handback Engineers complete Form A-G accurately
  • Assist team members CEM/QS/PM as required with engineering input
  • Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, and sub-contractors
  • Managing ESRs and TSRs

Requirements:

  • A proactive engineering manager who can coordinate and resolve challenges between interfacing disciplines and specialist contractors
  • BEng or MEng (Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of NR Standards
  • Experience in the Design and Construction of Plain Line, Switches & Crossings, Track Bed and Formation, Track Drainage, and UTXs
  • Previous CRE Construction experience or ability to be mentored into the role
  • Track Handback Engineer (Desirable)
