Job Title: Lead Junior Rowing Coach

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Rowing Coach to lead our Junior Rowing team at Barn Elms Boathouse. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive coaching strategy to drive the success of our junior athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a 3-year strategy for the junior squad, working closely with the Head of Rowing to set and achieve targets.
  • Deliver high-quality coaching sessions, following the GB Rowing Team technical model, How much how often guidance, and Rower development guide.
  • Coach on the year 9+ junior community sessions, which are a key pathway to the competitive squad.
  • Establish a development pathway for rowers to move into the competitive squad.
  • Organise and manage training camps, ensuring the highest level of preparation for competitions.
  • Maintain high levels of communication with parents, athletes, and coaching staff.
  • Arrange entry to regattas and competitions, preparing crews and equipment to be competitive at both local and major national events.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and progress records.
Requirements
  • Experience in coaching junior rowing teams, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of the GB Rowing Team technical model and coaching principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with athletes, parents, and coaching staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to coaching.
