Rowing Coach Job Description

Emanuel School is seeking a highly skilled and experienced rowing coach to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate rowing coach to lead our rowing program and work closely with our Director of Rowing to deliver high-quality coaching to our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a year group or year groups of rowers under the direction of the Director of Rowing.
  • Develop and implement a training program for our rowers, working closely with the Director of Rowing.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the Boat Club, including administration, regattas, training camps, logistics, and equipment maintenance.
  • Work closely with the Director of Rowing to deliver rowing sessions safely and efficiently.
  • Coach during all Games lessons, before school, Saturdays, and occasional Sundays as required.
  • Transport pupils to sporting fixtures and escort them to and from the boat house via train daily.

Requirements:

  • Experience in rowing coaching and a strong understanding of rowing techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team with full-time and part-time rowing coaches, teaching staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours, including weekends and school holidays.
  • Ability to transport pupils to sporting fixtures and escort them to and from the boat house via train daily.
