Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Product Design Engineer to lead the design and development of our industrial products. This role involves creating new product designs, re-designing existing products, and ensuring that designs are cost-effective and meet commercial requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Develop new product designs and re-design existing products, including detailed layouts, assemblies, and parts drawings.
- Testing and Quality Assurance: Define and manage product testing procedures, work with Quality Assurance (QA) to ensure adherence to quality standards and ISO guidelines.
- Production Coordination: Oversee the product from initial design through to production, coordinating activities and managing new product introductions.
- Research and Evaluation: Assess existing products for potential redesign based on feedback from customers, vendors, or internal teams.
- Documentation and Communication: Prepare clear and detailed technical reports and documentation, and communicate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar). A Master's degree is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in engineering industrial products.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with various departments and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Autodesk, AutoCAD & Inventor.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise tasks.
