About the Role

Aveva is a global leader in industrial software, and we're seeking a highly skilled Cloud Operations Manager to join our Research and Development function. As a key member of our global Cloud DevOps team, you will lead a team of Engineers to continually improve and develop AVEVA's Cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Engineers to improve and develop AVEVA's Cloud solutions, including release and deployment processes and pipelines.
  • Enhance and support monitoring capabilities, and diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure incidents to optimise uptime and allow us to scale through repeatable and standardised work practices.
  • Play a key role in team planning, organisation, and co-ordination, both in your team and close liaison with other CDO teams located in UK and US.
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate cloud technologies and tools, implement DevOps best practices, and establish monitoring and performance metrics to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Mentor and develop your team to build a high-performing DevOps function that is agile, responsive, and capable in designing, developing, and maintaining the security, governance, reporting and operational monitoring frameworks used for AVEVA's cloud products.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in Software Development and Design using modern web technologies and supporting toolsets.
  • Experience of automated deployment techniques for Cloud infrastructure creation and management, with particular focus on Terraform and Azure Service Operator (ASO).
  • Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
  • Strong background in automating cloud infrastructure and deployment processes using scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python) and automation frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security principles, compliance standards, and best practices for securing cloud environments.
  • Experience in monitoring, analysing, and optimising the performance of cloud-based applications and infrastructure to ensure high availability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
