Industrial Placement in Neutron Imaging and Elemental Analysis

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled student researcher to join our team at the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project in neutron imaging and elemental analysis, contributing to the development of new data analysis methods for the ISIS instrument.
Key Responsibilities- Develop data analysis methods for neutron resonance absorption spectroscopy techniques
- Collaborate with instrument scientists, users, and computing department members to develop and validate the methods
- Contribute to the development of a code for data analysis using Python
- Work with experimental data to validate the code and develop new analysis tools
- Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
- Required or have requested to take an industrial placement year
- Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
- Able to commence employment in summer
- Ability to program using Python
- Background in Physics or Chemistry
