Energy Dependent Neutron Imaging and Elemental Analysis Industrial Placement Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Industrial Placement student. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project in neutron resonance absorption spectroscopy, developing data analysis methods to provide quantitative elemental analysis tools for ISIS instrument scientists and users.
Key Responsibilities- Develop data analysis methods to extract information from neutron resonance absorption spectroscopy data
- Work with instrument scientists and users to understand their needs and develop tools to meet those needs
- Collaborate with the computing department to develop and implement data analysis methods
- Validate the developed code using experimental data and case studies
- Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
- Required or have requested to take an industrial placement year
- Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement
- Able to commence employment in summer 2025
- Ability to program using Python
- Background in Physics or Chemistry
