Energy Dependent Neutron Imaging and Elemental Analysis Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Industrial Placement student in Neutron Resonance Absorption Spectroscopy. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project, developing data analysis methods for ISIS instrument scientists and users.
About the RoleThe role of the student is to develop data analysis methods in order to offer a quantitative elemental analysis tool for ISIS instrument scientists and users. The student will interact with instrument scientists, users, and members of the computing department to develop the data analysis method.
Key Responsibilities- Develop data analysis methods for neutron resonance absorption spectroscopy
- Work with instrument scientists, users, and computing department members to develop the data analysis method
- Contribute to the development of a quantitative elemental analysis tool for ISIS instrument scientists and users
- Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
- Ability to program using Python
- Background in Physics or Chemistry
