Job Title: Specialist Biomedical Scientist Microbiology

Spire Manchester is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist with a strong background in microbiology to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your skills and contribute to the growth of our department.

About the Role:

As a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology, you will be responsible for assisting in the organisation, management, and development of services within a specialised area of the pathology service. You will work closely with the Laboratory Consultant and the Pathology Manager to ensure the provision of high-quality services in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement practice in investigation and reporting within your area of specialist expertise.
  • Analyse and interpret information and knowledge related to ideas and concepts.
  • Develop and evaluate the movement of laboratory specimens and blood.
  • Assist with research and development.
  • Develop practice in the application of technology for measuring and monitoring pathology investigations within your specialist area of expertise.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information.
  • Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
  • Promote best practice in health and safety and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
  • Support and enable equality, diversity, and rights.
Requirements:
  • You must be a HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with no restrictions on practice.
  • Excellent communication skills.
