Job Title: Plant Operations Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations Engineer to join our team at Gold Group, a well-established sustainable energy organisation based in the Birmingham area. As a Plant Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical components of industrial equipment, including control panels.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment, including control panels.
  2. Work as a team member or alone to complete scheduled maintenance and any remedial actions.
  3. Observe safety procedures and meet electrical codes.
  4. Understand and make decisions based on technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics, or instructions.
  5. Perform quality testing and inspections.
  6. Ensure the maintenance of organisation's operating systems and reporting platforms.
  7. Review and operate assets to fulfil both the efficiency and availability of BDEC assets.
  8. Be part of a 1 week in every 4 standby call-out rota.
  9. Plan and review 'Pirana' for Statutory, PPM and reactive works.
  10. Ensure that the BMS controls are working to maintain the schemes efficient operating margins.
  11. Complete the relevant paperwork and reporting diligently, through our PC based Asset Management Application.
Requirements:
  1. A recognised City and Guilds Electrical qualification (industrial and Commercial), Journeyman experience and or the completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
  2. Empirical Electrical knowledge / skills in the remedial and statutory maintenance.
  3. Experience of working on LTHW boiler systems and their statute maintenance regimes.
  4. Extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations.
  5. Knowledge of water treatment systems and their controlled uses would offer a distinct advantage, as this role requires weekly water condition testing for cooling Towers.
  6. Fault-finding and practical skills.
