Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operations Engineer to join our team in Birmingham. As a Plant Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical components of industrial equipment, including control panels. You will work as part of a team or independently to complete scheduled maintenance and remedial actions, ensuring the efficient operation of our energy assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Install, repair, and maintain electrical components of industrial equipment, including control panels.
  2. Work as part of a team or independently to complete scheduled maintenance and remedial actions.
  3. Ensure the efficient operation of our energy assets.
  4. Perform quality testing and inspections.
  5. Ensure the maintenance of our operating systems and reporting platforms.
  6. Review and operate assets to fulfill both efficiency and availability of BDEC assets.
  7. Participate in a 1-week-in-4 standby call-out rota.
  8. Plan and review 'Pirana' for Statutory, PPM, and reactive works.
  9. Complete relevant paperwork and reporting diligently through our PC-based Asset Management Application.

Requirements:

  1. A recognized City and Guilds Electrical qualification (industrial and commercial), Journeyman experience, and/or completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
  2. Empirical electrical knowledge/skills in remedial and statutory maintenance.
  3. Experience of working on LTHW boiler systems and their statute maintenance regimes.
  4. Extensive knowledge of electrical components as well as electrical safety codes and regulations.
  5. Knowledge of water treatment systems and their controlled uses would offer a distinct advantage, as this role requires weekly water condition testing for cooling towers.
