Job Title: Depot Plant Engineer

Contek are assisting their client in their search for an experienced Mechanical Plant Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

About the Role

The Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring the Plant Availability, reliability, and effectiveness of plant. This includes recognizing future improvements and Maintenance requirements and the day-to-day reliability of aspects of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure that Plant is running safely and effectively.
  2. Develop and implement plans to ensure future Reliability of Plant.
  3. Investigate and reduce recurring Plant issues to maximise uptime.
  4. Analyse Engineering-based non-standards.
  5. Ensure safe working through Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS).
  6. Implement plant and process improvements.
  7. Control and Understand Engineering spend.
  8. Engage and control Contractors.
  9. Liaise closely with Maintenance and Operations to maximise opportunities during Plant downtime.
  10. Identify Cost savings through Plant improvement and Energy savings.
  11. Coach Maintenance Staff as required on technical Issues.
  12. Ability to identify and plan work to avoid unplanned production outages.
  13. Produce technical reports on dangerous occurrences and Plant Incidents.
  14. Knowledge of Test piece furnaces and laboratory testing equipment.
  15. Cranes and Lifting Equipment.
  16. Develop Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  17. Redesign equipment and implement modern Engineering systems/solutions.
  18. Competent in AutoCAD and/or Inventor design software.
