About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Practitioner to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a Residential Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children and young people in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and nurturing living environment for children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Build positive relationships with children and young people, understanding their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and families to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and support plans to meet the needs of children and young people.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children and young people, helping them to develop resilience and coping strategies.
Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, with basic computer literacy.
  • Recent experience working with children or young people with emotional or behavioural difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
