About the Role

As a Technical Operations and Maintenance Manager at Babcock International Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and secure operation of our facilities. You will be responsible for leading the technical authorship and administration teams, ensuring that all documentation required to deliver Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) products are prepared and supplied in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all documentation required to deliver radioactive waste management operations and maintenance products are prepared and supplied in a timely manner.
  • Develop and implement suitable processes and training to ensure compliance with related identified operating instructions.
  • Provide professional advice on facility plant and systems, including writing reports and verification of documents.
  • Act as a direct line manager of the technical authorship and administrative team, ensuring statement of conformance conditions are met and Appointed Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (ASQEP) responsibilities are accepted and governed.
  • Act as an ASQEP on behalf of the NOMM RWM, including responsibilities such as sponsoring and ownership of RWM operations and maintenance documentation.

Requirements

  • Understand and interpret a variety of technical documents and drawings.
  • Appreciation, understanding, and experience of working in a regulated environment.
  • Appreciation, understanding, and experience of working in industrial areas and the associated hazards.
  • Technical operations relating to nuclear and radiological activities - Desirable.
  • Maintenance of facilities and equipment to support industrial activities both nuclear and non-nuclear - Desirable.
  • Industrial operations on regulated/licenced sites - Desirable.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 5 in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role.
