Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our team at 1st Executive Limited. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing and contracting strategies for a 10-year+ investment programme in the North West.

As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will work closely with the wider business and external professional teams to deliver commercial and supply chain support to our delivery programmes. You will lead the sourcing and contracting procurement process, inclusive of tender pack development, evaluation, and award, and negotiate and finalise contracts with external suppliers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing effective sourcing strategies aligned with our Infrastructure Construction Strategy
  • Identifying risks, issues, and liabilities within procurement and contract strategies
  • Delivering effective management and leadership to the assigned team, creating an environment for the team to succeed
  • Ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of your team and an environment for open communication
  • Providing commercial and supply chain support to our delivery programmes
  • Leading the sourcing and contracting procurement process, inclusive of tender pack development, evaluation, and award
  • Negotiating and finalising contracts with external suppliers, providing cost and pricing expertise
  • Undertaking contract closure activities, including negotiation of final price
  • Ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulatory process requirements
  • Input into the bidding activity such that the budget is met, consistent with business objectives
  • Management of internal and external stakeholders to a senior level and managing relationships with strategic suppliers
Essential Qualifications:
  • Significant experience working in supply chain for the construction industry
  • Detailed knowledge of JCT and NEC Construction contracts
  • Significant experience in the development of construction strategy
  • An understanding of business and procurement approaches, techniques, processes, policy, and strategy
  • Experience of contract and supplier performance management
  • Significant experience in management and leadership of a team
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Client-side experience
  • MCIPS
  • Experience in public sector/regulated environments useful
  • MRICS qualification or similar
