Job Title: Procurement Manager – Plant and Equipment

Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on skills and experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Manufacturing Plant and Equipment buyers
  • Contribute to the determination of procurement strategy, implement plans and actions for areas of responsibility
  • Deliver effective management and leadership to the assigned procurement team
  • Deliver and measure performance improvement (people/process/suppliers/contract/toolsets)
  • Contribute to the development of procurement strategy, policy and processes
  • Ensure supplier and sourcing reviews are carried out, suppliers are monitored and managed
  • Ensure technical support and co-ordination throughout the end to end procurement process
  • Ensure procurement input into the bidding activity
  • Contribute to the IPS strategic direction and delivery of objectives

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Understanding of business and procurement approaches, techniques, processes, policy and strategy
  • Proven experience working within a procurement role, ideally within an indirect spend category
  • Understanding of how procurement activity is organised and integrates into the business or function
  • Experience of contract and supplier performance management

Desirable:

  • Degree qualified in a business subject area or equivalent procurement / supply chain accreditations
  • Experience of managing a team of procurement professionals
  • Construction contracting

About the Procurement Team:

This is a team at the forefront of supporting the business' investments into its existing infrastructure as well as new building developments and product platforms meaning no two days are the same. This role has day-to-day responsibility for the team and ability to influence the procurement strategy and supplier management and selection within this area.
