Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Safeguarding Team for a Designated Doctor for Safeguarding Children. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated candidate to join our team who is willing to go the extra mile and contribute to a successful and effective multi-agency response to safeguarding children.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take a strategic and professional lead on all aspects of the health service contribution to safeguarding children across Shropshire, Telford, and Wrekin.
  • Provide clinical advice and supervision to paediatricians and other medical practitioners on safeguarding children.
  • Work closely with the ICB Safeguarding Team, children's social care, and other local partners to ensure that all services meet their responsibilities to safeguard and protect children and young people.
  • Develop and implement effective safeguarding policies, procedures, and training programs across healthcare services.
  • Contribute to the development of quality assurance systems and monitor compliance with safeguarding standards.

Requirements
  • Evidence of GMC registration and active registration within the paediatric field.
